Announcement: Passing of Councillor Ken Gilmore

Dyffryn Clydach Community Council is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Councillor Ken Gilmore on Sunday 2nd August 2026.

 

Councillor Gilmore served our community with dedication and distinction since 2022. He worked tirelessly for our community and sat on several of the Council’s committees including Finance, Personnel & Standards and Outdoor Spaces.

 

Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with Councillor Gilmore’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

Constitution Statement

The purpose of the Community Council is to represent and serve the interests of the local community, promoting the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of the area. The Council shall act as a democratic and accountable body, working in partnership with residents, local organisations, and public authorities to improve quality of life.

The Council is committed to transparency, inclusivity, and equality, ensuring that all members of the community have the opportunity to be heard and involved in decision-making processes. It will manage its resources responsibly and act in accordance with all relevant legislation and guidance applicable to community and town councils in Wales.

The Council shall meet regularly, conduct its business openly, and make decisions in the best interests of the community it serves.

The voice of local people.

All members of the public are entitled to attend the meeting and are cordially invited by the Council to do so.  Time will be set aside prior to the published agenda to enable informal discussion to take place.
